Dulce Maria Loynaz, who has been called "The Lady of the Americas", lived in the 20th century and is one of the most prominent Cuban poets. In addition to being a writer, she was a lawyer and a journalist. Loynaz was also a tireless traveler, and a dog's lover. Her fascinating literary work made her deserving of important awards such as the Cuban National Price for Literature and the Miguel de Cervantes Prize. '
