A Letter for the Birdman

Isa has lived her whole life in Oaks Bottom, a lush, forested refuge in a drowned world. She loves her home, her mail route, and her ten-speed bicycle. And she loves her mentor Hemmer, even if he wears a kilt, and keeps secrets from her. But her sixteenth birthday is fast approaching, and she longs to know the truth about the world beyond, a place called the Sunken Lands, home to a City shrouded in mist. But Hemmer isn't going to share the world's secrets with her, not until she comes of age. And that might be too late, because something is coming for Oaks Bottom. And if Isa is going to stop it—if she's going to finally learn the truth—she'll have to open one very mysterious letter, and read it for herself.
