(Wilhelm Hauff (1802 - 1827) is an important writer of German Romanticism in the Nineteenth Century. Although he died at the age of 25, his works left for the later generations are immortal. His novels and fairy tales have been translated into dozens of languages in the world, many of which have been adapted into operas and films and become subjects of paintings. This book collects seven novellas and short stories written by Hauff which are sorted by the year of creation. The first article, Little Muck, is a widely known work in Germany and satirizes and lashes the stupidity and greed of the rulers; the novella, Die Bettlerin vom Pont des Arts, describes the sad and touching love story between college student Fleur and Josephine, a beautiful beggar woman; the novel, Fantasy, records the antics of wild oats and going on at random of the author and his friends and criticizes the world, life and art, which enlightens people and set people thinking; The Cold Heart, A Young British Man and other articles are all thrilling and fantastic stories which make indelible impressions on people.)
